National Citizen Service

The National Citizen Service is an exciting, challenging and fun-packed youth initiative which aims to give every 16 year old the chance to do something different, meet new people and acquire some 'real life' skills to

help them get one step ahead of the rest. Involving two challenging team building residentials and a community project, NCS aims to: develop leadership abilities, increase confidence, encourage responsibility, improve communication and presentation skills, as well as open young

people’s eyes to the needs in their community.

The programme will run for a period of eight weeks (not all full time) from the beginning of July through to the end of August, following the end of the exam period.

Year 11 students can apply now to reserve their place. They will then be invited, along with their parents/ carers, to a 2-day Induction, near to where they live. They will learn more about NCS and have the chance to be selected as one of the lucky 300. They will receive a letter about the induction after applying.
